Description: Itsukushima Gate is a famous landmark in Japan. It is a large wooden torii gate that stands in the sea near the island of Miyajima. The gate marks the entrance to the Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gate appears to float on the water at high tide and can be walked through at low tide. It is considered one of the three most scenic views in Japan, along with Matsushima and Amanohashidate.
