Description: The Mallee ringneck is a subspecies of the Australian ringneck, a parrot native to Australia. It has a green body, a yellow belly, and a black head with a red band above the bill. The Mallee ringneck is found in the semi-arid regions of south-eastern Australia, where it feeds on seeds, fruits and flowers. It is a social and noisy bird that forms large flocks outside the breeding season.
Patchewollock Conservation Reserve is a protected area in the Australian state of Victoria. It covers 1,000 hectares of mallee woodland and shrubland and provides habitat for native animals such as the malleefowl, the red-tailed black cockatoo, and the fat-tailed dunnart. The reserve is located near the town of Patchewollock, about 400 km northwest of Melbourne.
