Description: Neuschwanstein Castle is a 19th-century palace built by King Ludwig II of Bavaria on a rugged hill near Füssen, Germany. It is one of the most famous and visited castles in Europe, known for its fairy-tale appearance and its inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. Marienbrücke, or Mary's Bridge, is a metal bridge that spans the Pöllat Gorge and offers a stunning view of the castle and the surrounding Alps.
Photographer: This is a photochrom print of the front of Neuschwanstein Castle, Bavaria, Germany, taken as few as ten years after the completion of the castle. The original is in the Library of Congress, USA.
