Description: Neideck is a castle ruin in the Wiesenttal in Franconian Switzerland. It is located on a rocky outcrop above the village of Streitberg and offers an impressive view of the valley. The castle was probably built in the 12th century by the counts of Andechs-Meranien and was later owned by various noble families. In the year 1523 it was destroyed by the peasants in the Peasants' War and then fell into disrepair.
