Description: The Black-necked Stilt is a shorebird with long, thin legs, a long, straight beak, and distinctive black-and-white plumage. These birds are commonly found in marshy or shallow wetland habitats throughout much of North and South America. In Corte Madera, California, Black-necked Stilts can be seen wading through shallow waters in search of small aquatic invertebrates and small fish.
