Description: BMV Church in Essen is a Catholic church that belongs to the Augustinian Chorfrauen B.M.V. (Beatae Mariae Virginis) convent. The convent was founded in 1652 by three sisters from Münster who came to Essen at the request of the abbess Anna Salome von Salm-Reifferscheidt. The church has stained glass windows by Johan Thorn Prikker and August Czoske, as well as paintings by Sr. M. Franziska Wüsten.
