Description: Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis, commonly known as the Senegal saddle-billed stork, is a large, striking bird found in sub-Saharan Africa. It is easily recognizable by its vividly colored bill, which features a red saddle-like crest and a yellow tip. This stork species is a resident of wetlands and marshes and is often observed wading through shallow water in search of prey such as fish, frogs, and crustaceans.
The Résèrve Africaine de Sigean, located in the south of France, is home to a pair of these impressive birds. Visitors to the park can witness their impressive size and beauty, as they gracefully move through their natural habitat. The storks are part of a larger collection of African animals, including lions, cheetahs, and giraffes, that have been brought to the park to create a unique African safari experience.
